I delay starting the Suzuki Piano Books as I find that the first volume moves thru too many hand positions, combines both hands too fast and is too complicated. We will get there but I like to build a strong foundation of note reading and technique before we begin these books. I usually add in Suzuki after book 4 of Piano Adventures by Faber.
2-7 year old beginning piano students start with the Piano Town Lesson, Technique and Performance books. The second book will be Piano Adventures Level 1, Lesson, Technique, Performance (1 thru 5).
Older students or students that have already played another instrument and/or can read music will be placed in the Piano Adventures, Faber books at the appropriate level.
Halloween solo recital, the weekend before Halloween.
Spring solo recital, irish fiddle songs and Suzuki solo’s.
Summer recital, end of July. Fun song (usually Disney ect.), duets and a solo from Suzuki repertoire.
